Hi my name is Monica Dashwood.  I live in Sonoma with my kind hearted husband Dan, two sons Nicolas and Alexander, German Shephard Jeb, three cats Sosa, Amber and Max and 600 vines of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

I moved to the wine country in 1998 to start a new life–slow but sure, and deliberate, like the making of a fine wine, to write, become a Dali Humana, as playful and joyful as my two kitties on the left here.

Today and by day, I work as a freelance writer, tireless full time mom, and dedicated volunteer to non-profit organizations in transition.

By night and on weekends, I blog and muse about life (right here on my deck) and its many transformations in the wine country.

My wine country diaries’ blog shares my love for the simple, the abundant found in wine, gardening, wisdom, reflections, friends, travel, writing, poetry, good food and cool places I might happen on.

I write about wine, food, hidden paths, and romantic places, along with art, poetry, literature, psychology and philosophy.  These mixed topical ingredients come together to make a delicious wine country vintage blog. 

We also make a fine wine called Nicolas Alexander.  We’d love to have you try it.
